West Berkshire is a rural unitary council, supporting the need of approximately 160,000 residents, situated within the historic county of Berkshire.
West Berkshire is currently seeking exceptional finance professionals, ready to engage with challenging and career defining opportunities.
At West Berkshire, staff have the opportunity to engage in projects and wider Council initiatives outside the scope of traditional roles. This ability to engage with the wider Council is a key pillar in the development of the Finance, Property & Procurement service. We look to engage and develop not only our services to our residents but also the staff within the Council who are key to delivery to those services.
We are looking to recruit over a number of roles:
- Service Lead for Management Accounting
- Service Lead for Financial Reporting
- Senior Financial Controller
These roles are for individuals who are focused on initiating change and making a difference. Our objective is to create a team with the diversity of skill that be confident in delivering against expectations and are supported in doing so. The roles sits within the Finance, Property & Procurement senior management team, professionals suited to the role will be able to:
- Drive through positive change, manage risk and deliver value for money.
- Create financial solutions for complex issues in a resource constrained environment.
- Demonstrate exceptional analytical skills alongside strategic thinking.
- Support the Council in delivering against strategic plans, ultimately enhancing services for our residents.
